The Opportunity

Adept is hiring an experienced Senior Packaging Engineer with experience in the Consumer-Packaged Goods Industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Support various packaging material RFQ’s by assisting with preparing specifications, generating drawings, and collecting technical information.
• Assist with qualifying new suppliers and/or alternate materials identified during the RFQ process by generating packaging protocols, overseeing test execution, analyzing test data, and authoring qualification reports.
• Initiate and coordinate packaging line trials including planning, conducting and post-trial activities.
• Ability to work independently and resourcefully while leading complex projects or assignments.
• Strong technical comprehension of various packaging formats and material properties (bottles, closures, labels, corrugate, etc).
• Provide technical expertise for packaging risk assessments and failure mode/root cause analyses.
• Lead the improvement and standardization of packaging on existing products with focus on performance and cost effectiveness.
• Partner with purchasing and production departments to determine costs and feasibility of producing proposed packaging.
• Build internal and external relationships to effectively influence and gain support for initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in packaging engineering.
• 7-12 years packaging engineering experience.
• Technical depth on a packaging material, format, or process.
• Advanced understanding of the full packaging development and qualification process (or stage gate process).
• Advanced knowledge of resource planning for trials.
• Advanced understanding of project timeline development.
• Demonstrated effective communications (verbally and in writing) across internal and external teams.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage time efficiently and effectively across multiple activities and tasks simultaneously.
