The Opportunity
Adept is hiring an experienced Senior Packaging Engineer with experience in the Consumer-Packaged Goods Industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Support various packaging material RFQ’s by assisting with preparing specifications, generating drawings, and collecting technical information.
- Assist with qualifying new suppliers and/or alternate materials identified during the RFQ process by generating packaging protocols, overseeing test execution, analyzing test data, and authoring qualification reports.
- Initiate and coordinate packaging line trials including planning, conducting and post-trial activities.
- Ability to work independently and resourcefully while leading complex projects or assignments.
- Strong technical comprehension of various packaging formats and material properties (bottles, closures, labels, corrugate, etc).
- Provide technical expertise for packaging risk assessments and failure mode/root cause analyses.
- Lead the improvement and standardization of packaging on existing products with focus on performance and cost effectiveness.
- Partner with purchasing and production departments to determine costs and feasibility of producing proposed packaging.
- Build internal and external relationships to effectively influence and gain support for initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in packaging engineering.
- 7-12 years packaging engineering experience.
- Technical depth on a packaging material, format, or process.
- Advanced understanding of the full packaging development and qualification process (or stage gate process).
- Advanced knowledge of resource planning for trials.
- Advanced understanding of project timeline development.
- Demonstrated effective communications (verbally and in writing) across internal and external teams.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage time efficiently and effectively across multiple activities and tasks simultaneously.
