The Opportunity

Adept Group is seeking a Packaging Engineer (1099 Contractor) to join our team! This candidate will have hands-on packaging development experience with flexible films, folding cartons, and corrugated packaging. The role will support projects focused on cost savings, quality improvement, innovation, and sustainability.

This is a 1099 Contractor (Independent Contractor) opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support packaging projects from development through implementation

  • Develop specifications and conduct lab testing

  • Coordinate and lead production-line trials

  • Partner with internal teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners

  • Manage timelines and communicate project results

Typical Day to Day:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers

  • Coordinate with internal and external manufacturing partners

  • Develop and maintain packaging specifications

  • Conduct lab testing and evaluate results

  • Track multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines

Requirements:

  • 3–5+ years of packaging industry experience

  • Experience with flexible films, folding cartons, and corrugated packaging

  • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field

  • Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional organization

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Creative, innovative, adaptable, and quick to learn

  • Food industry experience preferred
