IoPP Introduces AI-Powered EPR Intelligence as a New Member Benefit

New on-demand software helps packaging professionals access EPR expertise with speed and confidence

The Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP) announced the launch of a new member benefit that provides instant access to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) intelligence through an AI-powered platform - IoPP EPR AI, powered by Adept Packaging

IoPP EPR AI gives members an easy to use, practical way to get expertise on packaging EPR requirements across different U.S. States, understand the treatment of specific materials under emerging regulations and determine compliance requirements for packaging design and sustainability decisions. The software platform is designed to support the real-world, day-to-day questions that packaging professionals face as EPR programs expand and evolve. It enables users to access EPR rules, compare definitions and obligations across jurisdictions, and review citation-backed explanations that support internal discussions, training, and compliance planning.

EPR obligations now affect a growing share of brand owners and packaging suppliers - creating a new complexity for packaging engineers, sustainability teams, and regulatory professionals alike. By incorporating AI-powered EPR intelligence into its membership offering, IoPP is deepening its added value by enabling its members to spend less time searching through fragmented guidance and more time making informed, confident decisions.

"IoPP's mission has always been to equip packaging professionals with practical knowledge they can apply immediately," said Jane Chase, Executive Director of IoPP. "This new EPR intelligence capability strengthens that mission by giving members a reliable, easy-to-use way to stay current on regulatory requirements and better understand how those requirements impact their work."

Organizations with more advanced needs, including EPR reporting, financial forecasting, and enterprise data integration, can upgrade to the enterprise license of AdeptEPR AI

"Our goal is to make EPR knowledge usable, not overwhelming," said Prateek Lal, CEO at Adept Packaging. "By partnering with IoPP, we are helping packaging professionals turn regulatory complexity into easily accessible expertise needed for their everyday work."

IoPP will introduce the new member benefit through a series of educational webinars and resources beginning in April, including live demonstrations that show how the AI tool can be used to answer common packaging and compliance questions.
