The Opportunity
 
Adept Group is seeking a Packaging Engineer (1099 Contractor) in Westborough, MA! This candidate would have 1-5 years paper packaging design experience (corrugated, folding, displays, etc). This candidate would also be fluent in ArtiosCAD. Familiarity with ASTM/ISTA package testing and Kongsberg sample making is also required
 
Additionally, this candidate would be capable of rapid prototyping and working against aggressive design deliverables. They should also be familiar with printing, die cutting, gluing, as well as OEM filling equipment.
 
Someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment is a must!
 
This is an Onsite 1099 Contractor (Independent Contractor) opportunity for 6-12 months, with potential to renew, at 40 hours per week (8 am - 5 pm). Domestic travel possible.
 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • This role will be primarily accountable for the rapid prototyping of e-commerce packaging concepts 
  • This role will support standard testing methods 
  • This role will support the shipment and receipt of devices and prototypes at the direction of Sr. Designers 
Typical Day to Day: 
  • CAD Engineer drawing support lead
  • Working onsite at lab and some travel to suppliers and/or fulfillment centers
  • Spec development
Requirements: 
  • 1-5 years of paper packaging design experience (corrugated, folding, displays, etc.) 
  • Familiarity with printing, die cutting, gluing as well as OEM filling equipment 
  • Fluent in ARTIOS CAD 
  • Familiar with how to operate Kongsberg cutting tables 
  • Familiar with ISTA/ASTM testing methods 
  • Capable of rapid prototyping 
  • Capable of working against aggressive design deliverables 
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) 
Education:  
  • BS in Packaging or Industrial Design 
  • Open to applicants with 3-5 years of hands-on operational experience from a packaging converting operation
