The Opportunity
 
Adept Group is seeking a Packaging Engineer II (1099 Contractor) to add to our team in East Hanover, NJ! This candidate would have 2 - 4 years of full packaging development experience within Food & Beverage or CPG industries. Experience with flexible films, folding cartons, and corrugate is required.
 
This is a hybrid role that requires 2-3 days onsite in East Hanover, NJ. This is a 1099 Contractor (Independent Contractor) opportunity for the remainder of 2025 at 40-hours per week.
 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Primarily supporting seasonal products for confections.
  • Support qualifications and testing in plants or externally mainly with films (pillow bags and stand up bags).
  • New product launches.
  • Interface with external suppliers, as well as internal contacts.
  • Create and update specifications.
  • Work closely supporting external manufacturers.
Requirements: 
  • Bachelor's degree in packaging engineering. 
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in the packaging industry, preferably in Food & Beverage or CPG.
  • Experience with flexible films, folding cartons, and corrugate.
  • Ability to work and report in a cross functional organization.
  • Effective communications (oral and written) across internal and external teams. 
  • Proven ability to multitask and manage time efficiently and effectively across multiple activities and tasks simultaneously. 
  • The ideal candidate is creative, innovative, fast-learner, and someone who can take a big picture approach in an agile way.
  • Experience with candy is a plus!
