The Opportunity
 
Adept Group is seeking a Principal Packaging Engineer (1099 Contractor)! This candidate would have 10+ years of hands-on experience in developing and commercializing beverage bottles. This candidate would also have technical expertise in PET, resins and high-speed blowing and filling equipment.
 
This project is remote and requires 50-70% travel.
 
This is a 1099 Contractor (Independent Contractor) opportunity for 3 months at 40 hours per week, with the possibility of long-term extension. 
 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Lead and execute beverage bottle projects for the self-manufacturing of bottles within the filling plants.
Typical Day to Day: 
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to scope and manage project deliverables.
  • Design, test, and validate new or optimized beverage bottles.
  • Coordinate lab and plant trials.
  • Generate documentation for specifications and supplier qualifications.
  • Participate in meetings to communicate project status and risks.
  • Travel as needed for plant support and vendor visits.
Requirements: 
  • 10+ years of experience in developing and commercializing beverage bottles.
  • Technical expertise in PET, resins and high-speed blowing and filling equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with packaging development and commercialization. 
  • Proficient in creating technical drawings and specifications. 
  • Familiarity with C.A.P.E. / TOPS palletization software. 
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and MS Project. 
  • Strong project management and communication skills. 
  • Ability to travel 50-70%. 
Nice to Haves: 
  • Experience with ingredient and concentrate packaging. 
  • Knowledge of packaging IP, legal and procurement processes. 
  • Exposure to both CPG and beverage manufacturing environments.
