The Opportunity
Adept Group is seeking a Principal Packaging Engineer to add to our team! This candidate would have 10+ years of hands-on experience in developing and commercializing beverage bottles. This candidate would also have technical expertise in PET, resins and high-speed blowing and filling equipment.
Proficiency in creating technical drawings, specifications, MS Office/Project, as well as familiarity with C.A.P.E./TOPS palletization software is required.
Experience with ingredient and concentrate packaging or knowledge of packaging IP, legal and procurement processes a plus!
This role is remote and requires 50-70% travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads multiple complex projects or assignments within large projects with minimal oversight.
- Lead packaging qualification activities by generating packaging protocols, overseeing test execution, analyzing test data, and authoring qualification reports.
- Lead the improvement and standardization of packaging on existing products with focus on performance and cost effectiveness.
- Facilitate the resolution of the problems during the developmental process to meet the customer's needs.
- Provide technical expertise for packaging risk assessments and failure mode/root cause analyses.
- Lead the improvement and standardization of packaging on existing products with focus on performance and cost effectiveness.
- Maintain and establish ongoing communication with global counterparts and packaging vendors to support cost-savings initiatives.
- Influence over internal and external stakeholders to have strategic, meaningful & lasting improvement.
- Able to identify areas of cost savings or improvements to new and on-market products.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in packaging engineering. Advanced degrees or certifications preferred.
- 10+ years in a specific focus area of packaging and/or considered a Subject Matter Expert in field.
- 12+ years as a Packaging Engineer
- Advanced understanding of the full packaging development and qualification process (or stage gate process).
- Advanced knowledge of resource planning for trials.
- Advanced knowledge of FDA and ISO requirements related to packaging and labeling, ensuring robust package validation and qualification.
- Advanced understanding of project timeline development.
- Advanced communications (verbally and in writing) across internal and external teams.
- Advanced ability to multitask and manage time efficiently and effectively across multiple activities and tasks simultaneously.

Compensation Range: $107,000 - $154,000
