The Opportunity
Adept Group is seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer - Tech Services (1099 Contractor) to add to our team! This candidate would have 5+ years of Packaging Engineering experience and hands-on experience with packaging development and commercialization. This candidate would also possess technical expertise in PET, resins, fibers, flexibles, and molded packaging.
Proficiency in creating technical drawings and specifications, as well as MS Office Suite and MS Project is also required. In addition, this person should be familiar with A.P.E. / TOPS palletization software.
This opportunity is onsite (no remote) in Frisco, TX. Requires 30-40% travel (depending on project needs).

- Exposure to both CPG and beverage manufacturing environments.
This is a 1099 Contractor (Independent Contractor) project for 1-year at 40 of hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead packaging projects across primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging formats.
- Execute initiatives focused on productivity, cost optimization, capacity expansion, and quality improvements.
- Develop and validate packaging concepts through lab tests, plant trials, and material qualifications.
- Partner cross-functionally with internal teams (R&D, procurement, legal, supply chain) and external vendors.
- Write and maintain technical documentation, including packaging specs and structural drawings.
- Provide technical guidance on materials, vendors, and packaging processes.
Typical Day-to-Day:
- Engage with cross-functional teams to scope and manage project deliverables.
- Design, test, and validate new or optimized packaging formats (PET, flexible, paper).
- Coordinate lab and plant trials.
- Generate documentation for specifications and supplier qualifications.
- Participate in meetings to communicate project status and risks.
- Travel as needed for plant support and vendor visits.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in Packaging Engineering.
- Technical expertise in PET, resins, fibers, flexibles, molded packaging.
- Hands-on experience with packaging development and commercialization.
- Proficient in creating technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with A.P.E. / TOPS palletization software.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and MS Project.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Ability to travel 30–40%.
